Director  Supervisor/Title  Head  of  China  STA
Summary  of  the  Role  Manage  the  responsible  suppliers  to  achieve  the  aligned  requirement  with  Volvo  Global  Standard.

Main  responsibilities
    
1.  Monitor  the  VQE  (Volvo  Cars  Quality  through  Excellence)  process  and  ensure  supply  base  improvement.  
2.  Prioritize  and  support  Site  STA  Engineers  for  timely  corrective  and  preventive  supplier  actions.  
3.  Provide  prioritization  and  leadership  to  Commodity  Engineers  for  corrective  and  preventive  supplier  actions.
4.  Prioritize  Engineering  competence  and  development  by  timely  performance  feed-back  through  the  Performance  Review  Process  and  Coaching.
5.  Develop,  coach  and  improve  the  capabilities  and  effectiveness  of  STA  Site  Engineers.
6.  Objective  Setting,  Performance  Review  and  Competence  Development  for  all  management  performance  review.
7.  Provide  new  location  /  technology  evaluations  to  support  sourcing  following  the  SFQ  (Sourcing  for  Quality)  process.
8.  Manage  business  relationships  with  the  supply  base.
9.  Manage  the  progression  of  key  suppliers  to  achieve  VQE  and  manage  the  deployment  of  the  VQE  process  and  disciplines      
10.  Support  deployment  of  quality  performance  requirements,  initiatives  and  training  to  global  supply  base.  
11.  Interface  with  Purchasing  Managers  to  ensure  consistent  sourcing  direction  and  consensus.  Deploy  and  maintain  "fix  or  leave"  strategy  
12.  Take  act  and  part  in  CBP  (Commodity  Business  Plan)  teams.  
13.  Lead  and  manage  Site  STA  and  Commodity  Engineer  resources  to  develop  self-reliant  suppliers  
14.  Prioritize  Site  STA  Engineer  resources  to  support  Flawless  Launches  in  GPDS  Projects  by:  
      o  APQP  Status  reporting
      o  Run  @  Rate  review
      o  Production  Part  Approval  (PPAP)  –  PSW  reporting
15.  Provide  leadership  support  and  brand  specific  information  to  the  home  based  Site  STA  engineers

Qualifications

1.  M.S.  and/Or  equivalent  work  experience
2.  Proficiency  in  English,  oral  and  written.      
3.  Drive  solving  of  problems  and  concerns  and  implement  work  plan  within  the  area  of  expertise  and  specialist  competence.    
4.  Ability  to  manage  multiple  items  at  the  same  time  without  loosing  focus  or  quality.      
5.  Have  a  strong  holistic  view  and  high  degree  of  courage,  Integrity  and  business  ethics.    
6.  Feeling  at  home  in  an  international  and  diverse  environment.  
7.  Positive  attitude,  resolute  and  high  drive  for  results.    
8.  Experienced  in  working  cross-functionally.        
9.  Have  a  strong  drive,  leadership  and  ability  to  proactively  develop  and  improve  the  supplier  base.        
10.  Very  good  communication  (verbal  and  written)  and  social  skills.

Experience  Required  

At  least  5+  years  working  experiences  in  well-known  OEM  or  supplier  of  automotive  industry  in  STA  (supplier  quality  related)  area.  2+  years  as  commodity  leader/manager.

Competencies

1.  Good  knowledge  of  five  core  tools(PPAP/APQP/SPC/MSA/PFMEA).
2.  Knowledge  of  quality  management  system,  TS16949  internal  auditor  is  preferred.      
3.  Six  sigma  BB  is  preferred.  Lean  experience  is  preferred.  
4.  Good  knowledge  and  practice  of  GD&T.      
5.  Good  problem  solving  skill,  good  practice  of  8D,  5  WHY  and  continue  improvement.  
6.  Excellent  technical  and  analytic  skills  with  extensive  experience  in  supplier  manufacturing  processes.
7.  Good  knowledge  how  to  manage  STA  IT  and  quality  tools/systems/processes.
