Position/Title:        Finance  Controller,  R&D

Major  Responsibilities:                                                                                                                                                                      
  
·                          Responsible  for  accounting  and  financial  information  within  Research  &  Development  for  the  Present  Year  and  Business  Plan  periods.
  
·                          Lead  and  coordinate  Engineering  Cost  work  for  the  Business  Plan,  Budget,  Forecast  and  Actual.        Follow-up  on  management  questions  regarding  Engineering  Cost.
  
·                          Manage  the  development  of  Engineering  Containability  road  maps  and  ensure  that  such  actions  are  adopted  and  included  in  submissions  by  the  Engineering  Units.    
  
·                          Support  the  R&D  staff  regarding  Financial  Control  including  coordination  of  annual  S-Ox  MCRP  testing  and  compliance  question  completion,  consolidation  of  Quarterly  Certification  and  Representation  (CAR)  for  R&D  and  attending  PWC  attestation  meetings.
  
·                          Support  the  development  and  implementation  of  corrective  actions  to  close  Major  and  Minor  Open  Comments  within  R&D.
  
·                          Manage  the  tracking  of  Product  Program  Capital  Spending  and  Non-Product  Capital  Spending  over  the  Business  Plan  period,  including  Quarterly  updates  and  submissions  into  Corporate  Capital  consolidation  processes.    
  
·                          Critically  review  all  Non-Product  Capital  Investment  decisions  and  support  their  review  and  approval  by  R&D  and  Finance  management.  
  
·                          Approve  and  coordinate  the  roll-out  of  accounting  principles  for  R&D.
  
·                          Support  the  R&D  Finance  organization  with  education,  financial  advice,  principles,  processes  and  tools.    
  
·                          Manage  a  team.
  
Education    
  
·                          University  degree  in  Business  Administration.    Enginneering  would  also  be  an  asset.

·                      Broad  understanding  of  Finance's  role  in  PD  processes.  
  
·                      Strong  business  acumen  with  exceptional  analytical  skills.  
                                                  
·                      Proficiency  in  understanding  and  interpreting  financial  information  and  communicating  the  information  in  a  clear  and  concise  way.                          
                                                
·                      Possess  outstanding  leadership  skills  in  areas  of  business  acumen,  integrity,  courage,  motivation,  teamwork,  and  communication.                      
  
·                      Strong  team  skills,  an  ability  to  work  well  with  others,  and  to  deliver  on  commitments.
  
·                      Preferrably  10  years  of  Automotive  experience,  including  R&D  positions.
  
  
  
  
  
Reports  to:                                    Directly  report  to  VP  Finance,  Volvo  Cars  China;  Dotted  line  to  R&D  Controller's  Office,  Volvo  Cars  HQ  in  Sweden
