Reporting  to  Application  Engineering  Manager

Responsible  for  the  design,  development  and  integration  of  the  AWD  vehicle  driveline  to  meet  customer  vehicle  attribute  and  performance  targets.

Essential  Functions:
Coordinates  all  AWD  driveline  design  and  development  activities,  in  accordance  with  APQP  and  QS9000  processes.  Works  directly  with:

·  OEM  Design  Engineers  to  ensure  system  meets  requirements  (mass,  package,  cost,  durability,  NVH,  efficiency,  etc.)
·  Component  and  subsystem  suppliers  to  integrate  component  designs  into  driveline  system
·  OEM  Test  and  Validation  Engineers  to  establish  and  execute  product  validation  plan
·  OEM  Assembly  Engineers  to  ensure  system  meets  manufacturing  requirements  (DFM/DFA,  material  cost,  etc)
·  Program  Management  and  other  functions  as  part  of  a  cross-functional  vehicle  launch  team

Knowledge,  Skills,  Education,  and  Abilities:
·  BSME  or  equivalent  with  background  in  automotive  driveline  design  and  development,  including:
·  PTU  /  transmission  /  transfer  Case  components
·  Halfshaft  /  constant  velocity  (CV)  joint  components
·  Propshaft  /  propshaft  mounting  components
·  Torque  management  devices  (active/passive)  and  components
·  Axle  /  axle  mounting  components
·  NVH  (component  and  vehicle  level)
·  Experience  sizing  above  subsystems  and  components  for  strength  and  durability
·  Skilled  in  standard  engineering  disciplines  including,  but  not  limited  to,  DVP&R,  DFMEA,  root  cause  analysis,  etc.
·  Experience  in  vehicle  data  acquisition  and  correlation  to  analytical  predictions  and  lab  testing
·  Able  to  determine  design  feasibility  through  various  analysis  methods  (e.g.  statistical,  graphical  layout,  tolerance  stacks,  etc.)
·  Experience  managing  prototype  and  pre-production  builds  to  assure  all  designs  are  assembly  friendly,  providing  follow-up  and  resolution  to  design  concerns  prior  to  product  launch
·  Ability  to  develop  and  maintain  Design  Failure  Mode  and  Effect  Analysis  (DFMEA),  using  the  DFMEA  as  a  tool  towards  resolution  of  key  design  issues  dealing  with  significant/critical  characteristics
·  Experience  in  driveline  sub-system  /component  testing,  data  evaluation,  and  recommendation  of  driveline  components  for  production  through  accurate  interpretation  of  test  procedures,  data  results  analysis,  and  reporting,  via  clear  concise  test  reports
·  Able  to  evaluate  and  analyze  test  and  field  returns
·  Skilled  at  organizing  work  and  resolving  problems  that  arise  in  day-to-day  activities
·  Strong  analytical  and  problem  solving  abilities
·  Good  communication  skills  -  oral  and  written
·  Fluent  in  both  English  and  Mandarin  Chinese
