Title:    AWD  Electrical  System  Applications  /  Calibration  Engineer

Relationship:

Reporting  to:  Application  Engineering  Manager

General  Description:

                  Work  with  OEM  customers  and  TTS  engineering  team  in  the  development  of  electronically  controlled  AWD  systems.  Responsible  for  electronic  control  unit  (ECU)  specification,  analysis,  vehicle  integration  and  vehicle  level  performance  characteristics.  Perform  in-  vehicle  development  testing,  calibration  and  validation.

  

Key  Accountabilities:

  

·            Present  electronic  control  unit  design  and  system  performance  and  obtain  concurrence  from  customer

·            Ensure  the  deliverables  &  timing  are  clearly  defined  and  communicated  to  the  organization  

·            Work  with  BW  Engineering  groups  to  ensure  products  conform  to  customer  requirements

·            Participate  in  customer  product  design  team  meetings  

·            Maintain  customer  action  items  list  and  manage  commitments  to  ensure  customer  needs  are  met  

·            Manage  system  requirements  and  conformance  to  customer  specification

·            Support  control  engineering  in  development  of  algorithm

·            Support  system  specification  based  on  customer  requirements  

·            Schedule  and  conduct  ECU  and  calibration  design  reviews

·            Track  open  calibration  /  system  issues  and  resolve

·            Establish  ADV  Plan  for  ECU  and  System  /  Vehicle  (Calibration)

·            Support  customer  test  trips  for  systems  issues  and  calibration

·            Demonstrate  new  technology

·            Support  Program  Engineering  in  product  design  and  development  process

·            Participate  in  internal  design  release  reviews

·            Support  vehicle  demonstrations  and  early  prototype  vehicle  as  needed

·            Develop  an  intimate  knowledge  of  the  algorithm  to  assure  a  high  level  of  self-reliance  for  issue  resolution

·            Communicate  additional  algorithm  needs  as  required

·            Work  with  Controls  group  to  define  control  model  

·            Calibration  specification  release  -  for  all  proto  and  production  releases  to  ECU  timing  requirements

  

Qualifications  &  Requirements:

  

·            Minimum  of  3  years  of  powertrain  engineering  experience  (required)

·            Applications/systems  engineering  experience  (required)

·            Experience  with  working  with  customers  (required)

·            Excellent  interpersonal  skills  (required)

·            Excellent  presentation  skills  (required)

·            Excellent  negotiation  skills  (required)

·            Excellent  English  skills  (required)

·            BS  –  Electrical  Engineering  or  Computer  Engineering  (required)

·            Plus  minor  or  other  training  in  electrical/mechanical  engineering  (preferred)

·            Vehicle  evaluation  and  test  skills  -  including  limit  handling  (preferred)

·            Experience  with  working  with  Automotive  OEMs  (preferred)

·            Experience  working  with  Vector  CAN  tools  (preferred)
